Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support the revenue cycle for our healthcare provider clients. You will manage claims from submission through payment, work denials and help practices get paid accurately and on time. This role suits someone who takes pride in accuracy and enjoys solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit clean claims to commercial and government payers
• Post payments and reconcile remittance advice and EOBs
• Research, correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims
• Follow up on unpaid and aging accounts receivable
• Verify patient eligibility and benefits as needed
• Communicate with client practices about billing questions and documentation needs
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA

Requirements

• Experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding and claim forms (CMS-1500, UB-04)
• Familiarity with practice management and billing software and payer portals
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer rules
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Billing or coding certification (such as CPB or CPC) is a plus
